A proven plan, backed by real sales data.

It's easy to find a broker; many overpromise and underdeliver. Here is the plan behind the leader in Texas and the Gulf Coast for power and sail.

Two floating offices

Buyers can still meet us in person.

Online brokerages come and go without an office. LYS keeps two staffed floating offices open six days a week, where buyers meet experts face to face — and every LYS broker sells both power and sail.

Our Pier 6 office at Waterford Harbor Marina is two floating offices on an all-floating dock with more than fifty wet slips from 40 to 75 feet. Close to Galveston Bay, it's a favorite with sailors.

A short drive away, our Pier 13 office at South Shore Harbor is used mostly by power and motor yachts, and specializes in power, with immediate access to sixty 40-foot slips on our pier.

As a bonus for sellers, both marinas are widely regarded as hurricane holes, and two of the finest on the Gulf.

Exceptional marketing

More than an advertisement.

Most inquiries start online, but selling your boat takes far more than a listing. Here is the plan.

  1. The listing itself

Among the most detailed in the industry — high-quality photography and professionally shot video, on up to five MLS services.

  2. Our own website

A complete, accurate presentation of our inventory at LittleYachtSales.com.

  3. YouTube

More than 8,600 subscribers to a channel of over 768 videos of current and past listings.

  4. Open houses

Regular events that bring over 75 prospective buyers to our docks in a single day.

  5. The national shows

Annapolis, Miami and Fort Lauderdale — meeting buyers and growing our database of leads.

  6. Email and social

Weekly email newsletters, and a presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

  7. Search

Several Google Ads campaigns and robust search engine optimization.

  8. Print

Advertising in national and international print publications, where it fits the boat.

  9. A marketing director

One of the few brokerages with a full-time marketing director, so your broker's time goes into clients and the sale.

Demonstrated sales performance

Each month we compare our in-house sales with every other brokerage in Texas and some beyond — and LYS consistently ranks #1 among brokerages that sell both power and sail.

We have the data, and we'll show it to you.
  • 01Listings unsold for up to a year elsewhere, often sold by us in less than a month
  • 02Analytics from our MLS services, our YouTube channel and Google Analytics, showing real listing views
  • 03Several brokers with more than 40 years in the industry
  • 04Most with more than a decade exclusively in professional yacht sales
  • 05Many licensed captains, and brokers who live aboard

Boat not near us?

Sell it in Texas. Here's why.

We travel, and have listings across the South and on inland lakes. Sometimes we even suggest sellers bring their boats from Florida to Texas for us to sell.

  1. 01A twelve-month seasonThe selling season in Texas is 12 months long — not the 4 to 6 months of Florida and most other places.
  2. 02Buyers close byFive million people live within 100 square miles of us, before counting Austin, San Antonio or Dallas–Fort Worth — and with two international airports, Houston is as easy to fly into as anywhere in the US.
  3. 03Kinder waterBrackish water keeps boats cleaner, with less corrosion, and bottom paint lasts longer.
  4. 04Less competitionFar fewer comparable boats than in Florida, where the competition can drive your price down.
  5. 05Cheaper insuranceInsurance coverage costs less in Texas.
  6. 06We'll bring it hereOur captains can move your boat, and we can usually recover the cost in the selling price. Delivery, slips, maintenance and repairs — we arrange all of it, on floating, storm-proven docks.
