What’s a “Boat Crawl”?

The Ultimate ‘Boat Crawl’, It’s Like an Open House. FOR BOATS!

You know that feeling when the Texas spring finally hits its stride? The humidity hasn’t quite reached “tropical rainforest” levels yet, the sun is actually doing its job without being too aggressive, and every time you cross the bridge over Clear Lake, you find yourself staring at the masts and thinking, “Yeah, it’s time.” Well, if you’ve been itching to get out on the water, or if you’ve spent the last three months scrolling through yachts for sale in Houston Texas on your phone while pretending to work, I have some very good news for you, the www.KemahBoatCrawl.com is almost here!

On Saturday, April 18th, 2026, something pretty special is happening right in our backyard. We’re talking about the Kemah Boat Crawl, and honestly, it’s easily one of my favorite days of the year. If you’ve never been, think of it as a “progressive boat show.” Instead of being stuck in a giant, windowless convention center walking on scratchy carpet, you’re outside, on the docks, hopping from marina to marina. It’s free, it’s self-paced, and it’s basically a giant celebration of the boating lifestyle we all love.

We’ll be out there in full force from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and I really want to make sure you know where to find us because we have some incredible things lined up this year. Whether you’re looking for a sleek new powerboat or some of the best Kemah sailboats for sale, this is the day to see them in their natural habitat.

What Exactly Is a “Boat Crawl”?

If the term “crawl” makes you think of pub crawls, you’re not entirely off-track in terms of the social vibe, though there’s significantly more fiberglass involved here! The Kemah Boat Crawl is designed to be low-pressure and high-fun. You don’t have to register, you don’t have to pay an entry fee (yes, it’s FREE), and you certainly don’t have to deal with high-pressure sales tactics.

The idea is simple: various dealers and brokers across Kemah and Clear Lake open up their docks and offices. You grab a map, decide which boats you want to see, and drive (or boat!) from one stop to the next. It’s the ultimate way to shop because you get to see how these boats actually sit in the water, how the light hits the cockpit in the afternoon, and how easy (or not) it is to step aboard.

Where Little Yacht Sales Will Be Hanging Out

We aren’t just sticking to one spot this year. We want to make sure you have plenty of options to browse, so we’ve set up two main locations for the crawl.

First up, you’ve got to visit us at Waterford Harbor Marina. We’ll be occupying Piers 3, 4, 5, and 6. This is usually the “heart” of the action for us. If you’re looking for a mix of brand-new shiny models and some really high-quality brokerage listings that have been meticulously maintained, this is your primary destination.

But don’t stop there! We’re also going to be over at South Shore Harbour Marina on Pier 13. Every year, people ask us about the difference between the two locations, and the truth is, both are great, but South Shore usually has a slightly different flavor of inventory. It’s worth hitting both just to see the sheer variety of yachts for sale in Houston Texas that we’re currently representing.

The Vendor Hub: Music, Deals, and More

Now, even if you aren’t ready to pull the trigger on a new boat just yet, you still need to come by our Waterford Office at 300 Admiralty Way. This is where we’re hosting the official Vendor Hub, and it’s going to be a BLAST.

We’ve invited a ton of local marine vendors, so if you need new canvas work, electronics upgrades, or just want to talk to some local experts about maintenance, they’ll be right there. Plus, we’re hosting a Boater’s Flea Market. As you well know, every boater has a garage full of gear they don’t use anymore, and this is the place to find those hidden gems (or get rid of your own!).

To keep the mood right, we’ve got The Toucans playing live music. If you’ve never heard them, they’re a steel drum band that basically sounds like a vacation in a bottle. Nothing beats walking the docks with steel drums echoing in the background: it’s the perfect soundtrack for a Saturday in April.

We’ll also have family-friendly activities, so bring the kids! It’s a great way to get them excited about the water. Boating has always been a family affair for us at Little Yacht Sales, and we love seeing the next generation of sailors and powerboaters getting their first look at a real yacht.

Why This Beats a Traditional Boat Show

I’ve been to a LOT of boat shows in my time. The big ones in Miami or Annapolis are incredible, sure, but they can be overwhelming. They’re crowded, expensive to get into, and you spend half your day standing in line just to step on a boat for two minutes while someone behind you huffs and puffs.

The Kemah Boat Crawl is the exact opposite of that. It’s laid back. It’s local. It’s about the community. You can take your time. You can talk to our certified brokers without feeling like you’re taking up someone’s “slot.” We’re there to answer questions, share stories, and maybe help you figure out which boat actually fits your lifestyle (not just the one that looks coolest in a brochure).

Because the boats are actually in the slips, you get a real sense of the “liveability.” You can see how the galley functions, how much headroom there really is, and how the cockpit feels when there’s a nice breeze coming off the bay. It’s a much more authentic way to shop for boats.

Make a Day of It

If you’re coming from Houston or further out, make a full day of it! Kemah and Clear Lake are at their absolute best this time of year. After you’ve seen all the boats and checked out the Vendor Hub at our office, there are about a hundred great places to grab a cold drink or some fresh seafood.

Personally, I think there’s no better way to spend a Saturday than looking at beautiful boats, listening to some steel drums, and hanging out with people who love the water as much as you do. Whether you’re a seasoned salty dog with thousands of miles under your keel or someone who has never stepped foot on a boat but loves the idea of the horizon, you’re more than welcome.

So, mark your calendars: Saturday, April 18th.
